The Elysian Fields High School Athlete of the Week is Drew Simms, of EFISD Cross Country.
Drew has been the highest placing varsity male on the Elysian Fields Cross Country team, finishing 4th at Union Grove, 4th at Gilmer and 7th at White Oak so far this season. He is a senior captain on this year's team and is also a great teammate to his fellow Cross Country members.
On average, Drew runs 44 miles each week in training and events. He is a dedicated member of FCA, UIL Academics, church worship leader and the Jacket Band. He is coached by EFISD Cross Country coach, Jana Sims.
