Elysian Fields ISD has named Elysian Fields High School alum Dr.
Mary Ann Chapman as the new Principal at Elysian Fields Middle School, while
Deanna Anders has been named the district’s new Director of Technology for the 2024-2025 school year.
Dr. Chapman takes the reins at EFMS from Mrs. Martha Lovaasen, who is retiring after a long and successful career as a teacher and administrator in EFISD. Dr. Chapman has held administrator positions as Secondary School (Grades 6-12) Principal of Togiac School in Togiac Alaska, as well as serving as K-12 Principal at Andrew K. Demoski School in Nulato, Alaska. She has also served as a classroom teacher, teaching Physics and Chemistry at Marshall High School and also serving as Physics, Chemistry and Life Skills teacher at D’arbonne Woods Charter School in Farmerville, La.
Dr. Chapman is a 1989 graduate of Elysian Fields High School. She received a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science from the LSU School of Allied Health in 1994, and earned a Master of Arts in Teaching from Louisiana Tech University in 2019. In 2022, she finished work on her Doctor of Education in Educational Leadership from Louisiana Tech.
Mrs. Anders moves into the Director of Technology role after serving as a classroom teacher in the district since 2008. Mrs. Anders taught keyboarding at Elysian Fields Middle School this past year.
Mrs. Anders earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies from Stephen F. Austin State University in 2016. She completed her IT Support Tier I CER 1 certification program this spring, and also certifications in Technology Applications (EC-12), EC-6 Generalist, and ESL Supplementary EC-12.
