Chaye Massey Named New Principal At EFHS

Massey, who was born and raised in Nacogdoches, is coming home to East Texas after serving as assistant principal at Hurst Junior High in Hurst-Euless-Bedford Independent School District. He has worked as a teacher, coach and an administrator in his nearly 20-year career.

“We are excited to welcome Chaye Massey and his family to our team here in Elysian Fields ISD,” said EFISD Superintendent Monica Simmons. “He is an experienced leader with a track record of success and we are excited about the impact he will have on our students and staff at Elysian Fields High School.”

Massey received a Masters of Education in Educational Leadership from Louisiana State University and earned a Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from Stephen F. Austin State University. He also holds an associate’s degree from Navarro College, where he played both football and baseball for the Bulldogs.

“We look forward to moving back to East Texas,” said Massey. “I am eager to start building relationships with the teachers, students and community members in Elysian Fields.”

Chaye and his wife, Connie, have four children: Michael (12), Maggie (10), Mack (8) and Meyer John (5). Connie will also be joining the EFISD family as a second-grade teacher at Elysian Fields Elementary.
