Elysian Fields High School will be sending several students -- including the entire UIL Science Team -- to state competition following the results of regional competition this week.The Science Team earned 1st Place Overall at Regionals, securing their advancement to the UIL State Competition. Team members include Rylan Corr, Libby Simms, Brodix McLendon, and Rylan Dickinson, whose hard work and dedication led to this impressive achievement.

Individually, the team delivered standout performances:

• Rylan Corr captured 1st Place in Chemistry and was named 1st Place Overall in Science
• Brodix McLendon earned 3rd Place in Chemistry
• Rylan Dickinson earned 5th Place in Chemistry
• Libby Simms finished 6th Overall in Science

In Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Julie Lowery earned 2nd Place Overall, qualifying for the state competition for the third consecutive year—an outstanding accomplishment that reflects her consistency and excellence in debate.

Elysian Fields also saw success in Journalism, where two students were named State Alternates:

• Madi Giddens – News Writing
• Brycen Powell – Editorial Writing

The UIL Academic State Meet is scheduled for May 18-19 in Austin.
