NJHS Chapter Officially Reestablished At EFMS
Thursday, March 26, 2026, will be remembered as a historic day for Elysian Fields Middle School. After more than three decades of inactivity, the EFMS chapter of the National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) has officially been reestablished with the induction of 27 exceptional students. The ceremony marked not only a celebration of academic achievement but also the revival of a tradition rooted in the core values of scholarship, leadership, service, character, and citizenship. Under the direction of Principal Dr. Chapman and Chapter Adviser Ms. Abercrombie, EFMS has reignited a program that will shape student leaders for years to come.
The newly inducted members represent both 7th and 8th grade classes and have demonstrated excellence in and out of the classroom. This year’s inductees include Roseline Arvizu, Victor Arvizu, Zane Bailey, Clancy Boles, Ellington Bueton, Joleigh Caskey, Caden Commander, Jase Magouirk, Brady Martin, Hannah Myhre, Hudson Quick, Allie Schevers, Annabell Simmons, Jeremiah Thompson, Reese Wilson, Cannon Ansley, Natalie Cruz, Mariah Endsley, Adelyn Farmer, Grace Glover, Scout Goswick, Riley Gunter, Lauren Johnson, Kaleb Kohen, Jimma Sharp, Devin Sneed, and Karsyn Taylor. Their selection reflects a commitment to high standards and a willingness to serve as role models within the school and community.
Supporting this effort is a dedicated Faculty Council, including Mr. Chad Commander, Mrs. Suzanne DeOrnellis, Mrs. Cheryl Harris, Mrs. Teri Harris, and Mrs. Keri Weaver, whose leadership and guidance were instrumental in bringing NJHS back to EFMS.
This milestone represents more than a single event—it signals the beginning of a new chapter. With this group of students leading the way, the EFMS NJHS chapter is poised to build a lasting legacy of excellence and service.
The legacy has been reignited. 🧡
