On Friday, February 6, members of the Jacket Pride Band traveled to Gilmer to compete in the Region 4 UIL Solo & Ensemble Contest, showcasing their talent and dedication through outstanding performances.Several students earned the highest possible rating of 1st Division. Alyssa Ewing received a 1st Division on her flute solo, Gauge Watson earned a 1st Division on his euphonium solo, and Brianna Holland achieved a 1st Division on her multiple percussion solo.

In addition, the trombone quartet earned a 1st Division rating on their Class 1 quartet performance. Because of their superior rating, they have qualified for the Texas State Solo & Ensemble Contest, which will be held in Austin this May. Members of the quartet include Brycen Richerson-Powell, Libby Simms, Jaedyn O'Dell, and Zander Campbell.

Congratulations to all of our students who earned 1st Division ratings! We are incredibly proud of your hard work and dedication. Best of luck to the trombone quartet as they prepare to represent Jacket Pride at the state level!
