Gifted/Talented Window Opens January 12

Posted Date: 01/06/26 (11:10 AM)

Elysian Fields Independent School District will open its Gifted and Talented (GT) Assessment Window from January 12 through January 23, 2026. This annual window provides families with the opportunity to nominate students for consideration in the district’s Gifted and Talented program.
The GT program is designed to support students who demonstrate advanced academic abilities, creativity, leadership, or problem-solving skills. During this assessment window, students who are nominated will be evaluated using district-approved criteria to determine eligibility for GT services.

Who Can Be Nominated?

Parents or guardians may nominate their child if they believe the student shows characteristics consistent with giftedness. Teachers may also recommend students for testing based on classroom performance and observed abilities.

How to Get Started

Families interested in nominating a student should contact their campus counselor for additional details and to request testing information. Counselors can guide parents through the nomination process and answer questions about assessment timelines, criteria, and next steps.
