Posted Date: 10/14/25 (1:20 PM)

Sid Robinson, 1966 graduate of Elysian Fields High School, was recognized as the 2025 Distinguished Jacket during Homecoming festivities earlier this month.
Sid is married to Renae Woodley Robinson, a 1970 EF graduate.  They have two sons, Ronnie Robinson, 1994 EF graduate, and Chris Robinson, 1998 EF graduate, and eight grandchildren.  Their grandson, Keller Robinson, is also an EF alumni, graduating in 2024.
In high school, Sid was named Most Athletic, Friendliest, Class Favorite, and Mr. EFHS.  He won many livestock shows, forestry contests, and received an American Farmer Degree.  He attended Panola Junior College and then graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University with a degree in agriculture and was hired by EFISD in 1972 to teach ag.
After 37 years of employment with Elysian Fields, Sid retired in 2009.   During the years at EF, he taught and trained numerous forestry teams.  These teams won 15 state championships and 7 four-state contests, which consisted of Texas, Louisiana, Arkansas, and Oklahoma.  Sid was also asked by the Texas Education Agency to create three forestry videos to assist other chapters in teaching their teams.  He was named Texas Forestry Association Teacher of the Year in 1985.
Sid’s students also competed in many livestock shows, showing steers, heifers, goats, lambs, broilers, and rabbits.  They won many grand champion and reserve champion awards in jackpot, county and major shows.
Congratulations to Sid, our 2025 Distinguished Jacket!
